The perils of development part 2


Okay! Finally, the new version is out. I had discovered a new bug resulting from the game trying to load old save files despite it being supposed to quietly discard them. On top of that, computer problems required me to reinstall my OS, so I had to get a bunch of stuff set up again. But it’s here! This new version should connect to Archipelago servers and work just fine.

From the Github release, aside from the big code reorg/refactor, these bugs were fixed between the first and second alpha releases:

  • Client wasn’t able to receive items asynchronously (i.e. while offline)
    • If you load your Archipelago save and are still missing items, you may have to delete your save to get everything (sorry about that)
    • Save file locations:
      • Windows: C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Stardust-Studio\
      • Linux: ~/.local/share/Stardust-Studio
      • This shouldn’t be a concern if you’re playing in-browser, as 0.9.0a1 was never posted here
  • Game crashing while trying to load an old save file due to missing version number
    • It should now properly discard the save and start a new game if save version number is missing
